‘Child Abuse And Adolescent Health’
Fifteen students and five teachers attended a workshop on child abuse awareness and adolescent health, on 21 November 2015. It was organized by Max Hospital at Kempinski, Surajmal Vihar. The workshop was divided into four sessions.
The first session was on child abuse. It included a panel discussion on the topic from experts and a presentation highlighting the topic in detail.
The second session was on adolescent health and nutrition. It highlighted the role of schools in providing healthy food in the canteen and also the adolescents present in the panel pointed out on keeping a check on their intake of junk food.
The third session was on care for elderly in which various issues related to elderly care were discussed.
The last session was “operation smile” which was taken up by the Ghaziabad police to search the missing kids and reunite them to their families. Overall the workshop was quite a learning experience for the students as well as for the teachers.
